Die Scheiben-Lorchel wächst als Saprobiont in Fichten- und Kiefernwäldern. Die Pilz kommt oft an morschem Holz und um Baumstümpfe vor.
Die Fruchtkörper werden im Frühling von April bis Juni gebildet.
