Muslim schoolgirls in southern Thailand
Muslim girls in an islamic school in southern Thailand. The school uniform for girls heads are black scarfs.
The black headscarfs give a bad and serious beside effect: Black works like sun collectors or heater under the girls heads.
I remember when I came to this place 38 years ago, wearing an headscarf wasn't as usual as at present. Wearing scarfs or any veiling is not an islamic rule the Quran does not prescribe a veil at all.
The picture was captured during our relief to the victims of the terrible disaster from Tsunami in Dec. 2005.
