Morning Fire...Grand Canyon
O'Neill Butte seen from Yaki Point approximately 10 minutes after sunrise, March 31, 2008. At least at this time of year, when the sun rises nearly due east, this face of O'Neill Butte is lit up in the most dramatic fashion at sunrise. It stands well above any nearby features, and the canyon beyond is still dark when O'Neill Butte "catches fire".
