Much surprised, Adele, to learn that Vancouver is known to many by the nickname of Lotusland. Why is that? In ancient Greek mythology the fruit" Λωτος"(Lotos) was beleived to induce amnesia. Anyone eating Lotos was forgetting everything. Ylisses and his companions returning to Ithaca after the Troyan war were forced -in the land of lotus eaters- to eat the fruit in order to forget their origin....Any connection to that?best regards alexander

what lovely "candy colors"! but someone please tell santa and his reindeer to watch out, when stampeding across lotusland – it looks rather delicate, easily destructible, as though it cant't take too much hoof pressure… if there were a raindeer among santa's staff, called "tiptoer", i guess he'd be the one to direct the crossing. but since there isn't, the job goes to prancer: watch your step now, and tell dasher and comet to hold their horses! ; )) hugs, sabine.Mark Billiau. 09/12/2013 8:43
