This summer I visited London - during the heat wave!!! So a trip on the Thames was a good idea and the opening of the Tower Bridge a special experience! Yes, for such a shot I should have figured out the exact central axis, but unfortunately the captain didn't bother about me complaining....

the best photos of icons are those that make us see them anew or make us experience the essence of their particular ambience and charisma! i have been to london, seen the fabulous tower bridge with my own eyes, seen many, many pictures of it, and yet this image here excites me because it brings out its steely magnificence and royal grandness beautifully. a glorious and slightly surreal look up through the bulky gates of heaven! ; ) great!!! greetings, sabine.
