Chemainus: 78km north of Victoria on Vancouver Island
Canada's largest permanent outdoor art gallery, seen by approx.300,000 visitors/ year. Following economic uncertainty in the early 1980's and the closure of the town's sawmill, an ambitious revitalization program was launched. Talented artists painted murals depicting the area's history on downtown exterior walls.
Currently there are 39 in total.

This mural depicts the important connection the Post Office provided between families and friends in Canada an the soldiers at the front during the first World War.
