Karen refugees from Myanmar in Thai village

The Karen people refer to a number of Sino-Tibetan language speaking ethnic groups which reside primarily in Karen State, southern and southeastern Burma (Myanmar). The Karen make up approximately 7 percent of the total Burmese population of approximately 50 million people. A large number of Karen migrate in Thailand, mostly on the Thai - Karen border.
This foto was captured in Baan Pi Lok, just 150 meters away from the Burmesian borderline.
(The subgroup of the Karen are the Padaung tribe, best known for the neck rings worn by the women of this group of people. This tribe reside at the border region of Burma and Thailand. In Thailand mostly mistraded for tourist business and for filling the pockets of unscrupulous local businessmen. I'll never post any photos captured from this women or girls in Thailand.)
