Irland - County Sligo - Knocklane Fort
Das Knocklane Promontory Fort liegt auf einer Landzunge in der Drumcliff Bay im County Sligo. Es ist nur durch einen längeren Fußmarsch über Schafwiesen zu erreichen. Ein Promontory Fort (eigentlich „Ancient Promontory Fort“, irisch Dún Cinn Tíre) ist die englischsprachige Bezeichnung für bronze- und eisenzeitliche Abschnittswälle, die zumeist auf Halbinseln und Vorgebirgen liegen. In Irland gibt es an der Küste über 350 Promontory Forts.
