Inside Jokhang
The Jokhang Temple and Monastery is the most sacred and important Buddhist temple in Tibet. It was built during the reign of King Songsten Gampo (605 - 650 AD) to celebrate his marriage to a Chinese princess who was a Buddhist.
Today it forms part of what UNESCO calls the 'Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace. Hundreds of worshippers crowded the inside yard for celebrating meditation.
I got informed that at the present the temple inside is close for tourists. The Chinese military controls every pilgrim who comes to enter into the yard.

Großartig! Ich durfte den Jokhang 1999 besuchen und war tief beeindruck, als ich vor der Statue des Jobo Shakyamuni stand. Und ich war und bin tief beeindruckend von diesem Volk, dass sich von niemandem seine Religion verbieten lässt!lg Michel
