Glutinous rice is the main rice eaten in Laos.
in Lao language sticky rice is called "khao niao".
The old Hmong woman turned the rice corns to dry it in sunlight before the corn will get threshed.

danke Sylvia, die Feldarbeit musste auch meine Frau in ihren jungen Jahren leisten, jeden Tag, manchmal 12 Stunden.Der laotische Klebreis ist auch in Thailand, besonders im Nordosten Isaan, beliebt und ich koch ihn sogar in München.
Allerdings gilt bei der thailändischen HighSo dieser Reis als "food for lower people", damit sind auch die "Laos-people" gemeint.
Ausdruck eines dummen Chauvinismus, der hier leider sehr verbreitet ist.
