Stargard, 'the old town', was indeed a member of the Hansa. Nowadays, the city presents a very particular mixture of old houses, huge prefrabricated buildings and many spaces of fallow lying meadows within the historic center where houses destroyed during the last war stood. The picture was taken in 1998.
