    The title 'evolution' is an old title I gave it back nearer the time the photograph was created in summer 2006. The thought was simply highlighting how the otter is holding the rock and linking that to 'evolution'.
    There's two of them in the enclosure, Eric and Cherry. Which one this one is I don't know.

    It's very beautiful how they dive into the water, pick up stones, and then move them from hand to hand in a kind of juggeling movement, apart from the stones don't leave the hands.

    yes, this is a nice otter photo. Puzzled by your title, but he is a keystone species for coastal areas. -archie
