Das imposante Denkmal auf dem Gelände vor dem Gifhorner Mühlenmuseum ist rund 16 Meter hoch und steht auf einer Grundfläche von 20 x 20 Metern. Es erinnert an die Teilung Deutschlands und Europas und an den friedlichen Fall des Eisernen Vorhangs.
