Deception Island

Deception Island ist eingestürzter Krater ca. 12 Km im Durchschnitt und diente
in der Walfangzeit als ein sicherer Hafen. Es gab Zeiten da war der ganze Krater rot vom Blut der geschlachteten Wale. Die um die Ecke liegende Kolonie der Pinguine diente den Walfängern als Brennmaterial d.h. sie warfen die Pinguine ins Feuer und heizten damit.
