let us consider the fact that I was hiding myself up on the galleries not to be seen...and also technical skills weren`t the approach here either! how about look at it as a supreme moment captured very hardly..?
I can say firmly that the soul of Antonio Gades`s dance was represented in my picture with high degree of respect. Sorry, dumb you.
    Sergio.

Agree with Jeremy. Good story, promising elements, short on execution (contrast, color, etc.). Sorry, contra.

Although it is a moving story and a good foto...
My thoughts are that the dancer is bleached out a little too much, and even though I like grainy pictures, I miss a little of the quality here. Just my opinion - with all due respect.
    sorry - contra

What is so exceptional about this picture is the history and it's subject. When you understand the story of the man it has a deep impact that goes down your spine - as it did the first time I saw it, I had tears for the beauty of this shot. Antonio Gades was THE most influential flamenco dancer - in fact, one of the most influential dancers of our time. He raised the folk dance to the professional theatrical stage. In this picture he is dancing his Carmen - based on the French opera. Just before his death he was raised to the highest honor by Fidel Castro. Antonio passed away of cancer last year. This picture to me memorializes his career, life and death. Here he dances alone basked by a flood of light - on the left - his light brings attention to the other dancers.

Sergio does all of his work IN the camera, it is not a digital image. His mastery of photography and film is amazing, and to capture this image in the darkness of the theater puts me in awe.
