Die Kasuare (Casuarius) sind eine Gattung großer flugunfähiger Vögel aus der Gruppe der Laufvögel. Das Verbreitungsgebiet umfasst hauptsächlich die Insel Neuguinea. Sie sind dort das größte Landtier. Eine der drei Arten lebt auch auf der australischen Kap-York-Halbinsel. Der Name „Kasuar“ ist vom malaiischen Namen „kesuari“ abgeleitet.
