At the entrance to the Wat Luang Kone in Luang Namtha
Visitors to Luang Namtha often notice the lack of Buddhist temples and presence of monks in the city.
Indeed, only 22% of the provinces population are Buddhists, with the majority of the population practicing various forms of ancestor and spirit worship.
This statues are fixed on the entrance steps to the temples complex to give the warm sign of a welcome.
