In Japan heißt die Chrysantheme "Kiku", was soviel wie "Abendsonne" bedeutet. Die Chrysantheme ist die japanische Nationalblume und gilt als Symbol der Unsterblichkeit und Vollkommenheit, denn sie blüht, wenn andere Blumen schon verwelkt sind.
