I rarely go that close like I did this time to capture protests and their heavy military reactions by occupation forces- without professional protection equipment, such as gas mask, bullet safe west and steel helmet, it is much to dangerous to get injured. During summer I went more often to protests to observe which is a part of my job, but after suffering from teargas inhalation once (I have asthma) triggering an asthma attack to me- I got more careful.
I don´t fear the protestors.
I fear the military, shooting tear gas close to unprotected observers and people with cameras.
