A Rose Between Two Thorns
Taken January 2005, Mumbles Hill, Swansea UK. Using Samsung Digimax 202, with close-range macro. From below the cliff where these flowers (actually weeds) are located, they look ugly and unsightly. I wanted to capture their wonderful colour, and also show them in contrast to the main road, car park and low tide in the background - giving the impression that they stand out as beautiful when this really isn't the case.

Hi Dave!Fine picture here, it nearly looks like 3D with this selective focus and this background! Nice colors.
You can improve the quality of your pictures by uploading them with all the 130 kB you can use, avoid the automatic compression here! In the forum "digital photography" you find something Vladimir Danilov wrote about "prepare your photos for upload".
