A Fortaleza da Baia do Rio - The Bay's Fortress of Rio.
The Santa Cruz Fortress, just in the entrance of Guanabara Bay (Rio de Janeiro), in the oposite side of Sugar Loaf, was built in the XVII century by the portugueses. It was the "eyes and the arms" that protect the city by the invaders.
Nowadays it is still a military area, open to the public on guided tours.
RIO DE JANEIRO: THE WONDERFULL CITY.
