Has Anyone in the UK seen used a Nikon 80-200AF-S F2.8 for sale in your local camera shop?
I'm looking for one.
Please don't suggest Ebay, I wouldn't buy something like this without trying it first.
Thanks.
Rob.

I'm to my local shop at the weekend so I'll certainly make enquiries on your behalf. We can discuss my fee's at a later date, but don't worry, its been often said I'm cheap.

Cheers Rob.
Rob why not the VR Version?
Its costs not much more and you have 10mm less (70 -200) and you have an amazing working VR.
I use it since 1,5 y and I am really impressed about the quality of the lens....
at 2,8 its amazing...
2 examples for aperture 2.8

Stupid question time. What does VR stand for exactly ?

Vibration Reduction. It's for those with wobbly hands.
Me.. dead cool, no shakes here.
Ingo.. The VR is about 1500. The 80-200 ~ half that, (used)
I can buy a mighty fine tripod for 750 Euro, no vibration then ;)
My take is.. buy the used 80-200 F2.8, when this habit really does start paying for itself, then sell that and get something better. At the Moment my tele-lens is made from several empty toilet rolls with some magnifying lenses taped onto the ends.

Steady on Andy. I think the only fair thing to do is auction the toilet rolls - we all need an even chance of getting hold of such sophisticated equipment.

I'm parting with my looroll lens.
You all have a chance to purchase.

Laughing my socks off !!
You seem to have forgotton a decimal point between the two ones though. After that correction, I'll be quite happy to raise the bid to 2euro's.

hahahaha, great one Martin. :)
Good grief. If that was what I was confronted with after unpackaging my toilet rolls, I would seriously consider never going to the bathroom again.
