That Tamron is one great lens for the money.
I used it for the red chair project which needed me to move about really fast and take the pics pretty sharpish, the lens was there every time, fast focus, accurate focus, I couldn't fault it.
To be honest, it spends more time on the camera than the 18-70. Purely because it's an F2.8 all the way.

50mm is a given, fantastic lens for not much money.

agree w/ Rob M.

And the tamron 28-75 is the best less for this price.... only the Nikon 28-70 F2.8 is better but it cost 1500€

You guys rock! I am suuuuuuuuuuuuuuch an amature! I hesitate to refer, to myself, as BEING a photograpgher...
I am a silly girl with a pocket digital (Cannon Rebel) who is quite annoying to be around. I snap shots of anything that causes me to ponder, to feel, vizually. I am starved, thirsty, for illuzion...........
But, I am taking notes on the equipment you's use. Almost time to write that letter to Santa Claus. And I HAVE been a good Barbie this year! Thanks for your clamor!
