I'm a researcher in neurobiology who also has a growing passion for digital photography. I love strong vibrant colors-- and the awareness of this preference is slowly teaching me to appreciate soft compositions as well, even though I'm not naturally drawn to them. I'm an artist but a lazy one, and so I relish the fact I can put the skills I have used for drawing and painting into a simpler medium like digital photography ("simpler" i.e., less time intensive).
I'm a n00b to photography and I'm just beginning to upgrade my equipment. My current camera (with which I am in love) is a Nikon D7000, with an 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and a less expensive older AF 28mm f/2.8 macro lens. A good portion of my current photography was taken with my older Olympus EPL1.
At the moment my greatest problem is raising enough money to upgrade my Photoshop to CS6 so that I can work with the .NEF files my camera produces in order to get the clearest pics I can. So for now, most of my pictures here are not as tack sharp as they will be once I get CS6 to re-edit the RAW images.
