Irisnebel (IC7023)
Die Entfernung des Irisnebels zur Erde mitsamt dem Sternhaufen beträgt rund 1300 Lichtjahre.
Die fluoreszierenden Moleküle erzeugen eine starke ultraviolette Strahlung, die wiederum von den vorhandenen Staubkörnchen reflektiert und in für uns sichtbares Licht umgewandelt wird.
