I've come to realize that my art has diversity with powerful individual vision, that chronicles the life of individuals. People draw me into their lives to tell their story to anyone willing to listen and validate their reason for living. My attraction to story telling grew as my life developed behind a camera. I discovered that it's not how a photographer looks at the world that is important, it's their relationship with their fellow human beings and these moments of connectivity that are frozen in time for all to see.
I am now teaching street photography and journalism around the world. Helping people to find their stories after they identify their personal pilgrimage.
As a photographer I have won a John F Kennedy award, Leica Medal of Excellence for outstanding achievement in humanistic photojournalism, NPPA region 10 second place, and many more.
I hope to share more and inspire other's as an administrator on foto-community someday.
Rest in peace my friend Glenn... Our discussions and occasional arguments always proved to me that in photography there is certainly a lot more than simply pressing the shutter.....
alexander
It's very hard when people leave the life who see the world from a special point of view! Blessed memory to you, Glenn! I will remember you, your wonderful photos! With deep respect, Natalia.
I shared quite a few conversations with Glenn when I first joined fotocommunity...he had a unique view on the world. Thanks for the inspirations my friend.
it is said that there are people whom one encounters only once in a lifetime; in whatever way and this encounter will always stay in your head!
Thank you for letting me know you!
You are very true in your reportages, Glenn. Each of viewers can see across your pics you as professional and man with big humanistic view to the real world. This is first of all. Plus your splended reaction in the sought-for moment and a magnificent composition with a fine correction each time, it's impressive and does not leave indifferent nobody. Sincerely,
Sergey, North-West region of Russia.
thanks for looking, but you also have some fine work here. street photography makes me rather sad, but then again that's life too. these people were born into devastation of life/their 2nd life, 3rd or 4th...who knows. But I do believe we all were here before on this earth...Greetings Sonja from Cape Town
Haven't been here for a while and cannot comment on every photo. But the stories you tell with each and every pic are amazing, worrying, sometimes almost scary, touching, breathtaking. Taking us to places many would never explore. Thanks for sharing.
hi Bud, hope you are happy and healthy and enjoying yourself. your photos are always great, you are a master and I hope they will erect a statue in N.Y. for you one day. hope you still remember your 78 year old friend in Canada, take care bud......... janos
Looks like Rasta, doesn't it? :) - but making such a hair style takes a lot of time - and I don't have it always - so well - I mostly let my hair grow as it grows - even with some grey inside - (old woman:) )
walking through your gallery is like a travel around the world. Very good fotos - and I love the gargoyle sitting there - looking down on the city - thinking.....
Hello Glen,
so many appreciative comments from you today, thank you for your visit and nice words .... and yes, the storms and tides wash all those logs onto the beach - and there they stay !!!
one day you will have to visit the north-west !!!
greetings and best wishes,
Adele
Hi, Glen
I feel I must edit this comment of mine I have written on one of your photos some time ago. I was a beginner in the FC then, and I did now that my thoughts and comments should be placed in your community comments. Of course, you are not lacking recognition but sometimes the protocol serves better what everybody deserves. You know that I am a fun of your splendid work and the following comment does not apply only to one of your images:
"I will quote what Andre Gide wrote about George Simenon " You are living on a false reputation-just like Baudelaire or Chopin. But nothing is more difficult than making the public go back on a too hasty first impression. You are still the slave of your first successes and the readers' idleness would like to put a stop to your triumphed there....You are much more important than is commonly supposed"
Respect and regards"
Hi Glenn,
thanks for your friendly comment!
I'm learning a lot looking at your great pictures showing real life as it is from regions of the world were people don't prosper!
Thank you for your work and pictures!
Hans
Thank you for all your comments. Particularly for the WTC picture. I wonder that nobody - except you - noticed the idea behind the image. Showing more than a well known attraction by NOT showing it. Instead showing what happens with people that look at it. There were two really big ladies with pink coats sitting on a bench nest to the WTC site. Drinking Coke light, eating a sandwich and staring up to One WTC. It was a great image. Unfortunately there was no way to get them unseen. Every time i detracted to them they immediately looked at me. Damn.
Lutz
Via Translito: Hallo dear Glenn, thank you very much for your note for my "red biker", I am very pleased and honored me. Your gallery offers lots of very important photographic work. I like you a lot and I've subscribed to your images. Greetings from Dresden! Lutz
Dear Glenn, most probably the road existed when I went there but I didn't reach as high as that level. The highest level I've set my foot on was on the Tibetan summits, near 4.200m, about 100 miles away from Lasa. That was in 2002. In Peru I've been twice, in 2002 and 2004, much after my...youth days.
The photo is excellent.
cheers alex
Wolfgang
Dear Glen, thanks very much for your attention on my photo. I use D800 often but with D200 and especially with D700 there is a deeper and more..affectionate bound!
cheers alexander
Thank you for your comments, Glenn - much appreciated. FC does have a SELFIES section ...
under people, under portraits .... there was a request for it, it was done, and now it
is not being used :-))))
cheers, Adele
Thanks for your encouragement and teaching! I'm currently studying English travel around the world and take more photos. Let me see if I understand, I should change myself to view and know about other people in th world. communicating by heart and eyes.
I'm late to everything, Glenn. The saying goes, "Better late than never," only I'm so late sometimes that it is never. Guess I could say I'm never late. So I will. That said, it's always good to hear from a friend.
Hello Glenn, and thank you so much for all your comments and appreciation of my docu series ... I enjoy doing photography like that, a bit different than birds and flowers :-)))
wish you a fine evening,
Adele
You don't know Dear Glenn, how much it means to me the opinion of such a wonderful photographer like you.
Thank you once more for your many kind words.
Greetings :)
Thank you for your re-visiting my little gallery. This photo, you've been commented, shows an Old Garrison Cemetery (1816) in Torun, Poland, of course :).
Best regards,

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for your mail, very nice of you. You also make impressive images that I like very much.
Your photo's wearing a very special handwriting and I like that.
I wish you, subsequently,
a good and healthy New Year 2014 and may thus develop for you the things that you are satisfied.
Best regards
Rita

Best regards & Merry Christmas janos
This is a German assault gun "CIS 3". The photo was taken in Finland where the tanks are still the 2 world war is there. The Finns have at the time of the German Wehrmacht some specimens get their country to defend against the Russians. What is them well done and they are still very proud of what seemed to me
So long
Hermann
Thank you Glenn for your visit !
What about underground city ?
- Although often described as Montreal's "underground city", it's actually a vast pedestrian network witch extends below the streets of Montreal and only under the downtown. Metro, train and bus lines converge upon it. With more than 150 entrances at street level, many people walk through it every day - whether to shop or simply to get to work or their university campus.
With more 30 km of corridors, central hall and intersections, it's the largest indoor pedestrian network in the world.
Have a nice we.
My good friend Glenn, once again I am transported through your photography to worlds and people unknown to me! Thank God for your 'Minds Eye' sir I am blessed to have you as a friend <3
Thank you very much for your comments to my new pictures.
Unfortunately i couldn`t find the picture you mentioned, but had a great time while searching exploring the great art of eugene smith
Thanks very much, Glenn for your attention on my photo. Yes, I've been many times in this place(Meteora) taking pictures and couple of times I have exhibited them. I have visited all the monasteries. Three of our most outstanding Greek photographers have published their photographic work on that place in nice books edited also abroad.
best regards alexander
Hi Glenn, I just made the remark because a scene like that is familiar to me. I spent the best part of my childhood in a small village in nearby Hungary, where old peasant women used to sit every evening together on a bench and gossip. Sure, make them laugh... they'll be grateful, as you made ME laugh about the fish in the harbour of Old Istanbul. Doin' OK, so far so good. Thanks for asking. Janos
PS. you should go to Hungary next... less misery than Romania, but the girls are a lot prettier and wonderful horses on the puszta.... There are Hungarian Cowboys (csikos) who can ride them standing up and backwards.... The Magyars came from the Huns who devastated Europe in the 5th century....The Magyars survived, but the Huns didn't... Take care young fella! janos
Dear Glenn, I am sorry my reply comes so late. I have not been here regularly lately. Thanks a lot for your comment. Had a quick look at your photos, they are stunningly beautiful. Will have a closer look at them when I have more time. Have a great week! Greetings from Germany...
Nadine
Marie
Dear Friend Glenn. Thanks for your message and it's understood. You have certainly grown behind your camera, your photos are powerful, compassionate and expressive. Also I thank you for noticing me. I have been and continue to be inspired by your work. I used to be an architectural and landscape photographer and not too good at that, but now I am trying to expand my vision. You travel a lot to different places, encounter different people and that indeed expands your vision. Unfortunately, my travelling days may be over due to health issues. I spent a lot of time in Italy in my younger days and did photography, but I concentrated on art and architecture and the beauty of the landscape. Anyway, if and when we ever get to talk I could tell a lot of stories. Until then, cheers to you and enjoy the beauty of Italy and her wonderful cuisine. (not to mention the wines!) Sincerely, Janos
thank you Glenn, you are right is a little tough to ride in the nude, but it´s very funny to see and listen the comments from the people visiting the parades ! saludos
Hi Glenn, you asked me for my phone no. and I answered the email, but not sure you got it.
anyway, it's 1 -416 - 782 - 4784. Toronto number. Again, not sure why you want it, but I'd look forward to a chat. I am home most of the time. Thanks for your attention. janos
Thank you for a nice compliment, dear Glenn. Indeed this means a LOT to me. Your workshops must be great fun but I suppose one has to be there with you. My travelling days are unfortunately over. I am past 76 and my kidney is not in the greatest shape....... thanks for the offer. were are even 20 years younger I follow you anywhere..... janos

Hi Glen, not Glastonbury.........in fact nowhere close. :)))) Creake Abbey is in north Norfolk, hidden away in the gentle rolling hills of that area, far away from any towns, secluded and quiet, a real haven of peace...at least it was the morning that we were there.
Dear Glenn, thanks very much for your extended visit and comments on the photos of my gallery.Your series also from the gypsy camps create a valuable documentary about everyday conditions and philosophy of life of that soceity. Great photos indeed.

Hi Glenn'
thanks very much for your attention and for the tip about th ND filter. I also like it very much and I'm using it quite often(up to ND 8).The fact is that in analogue photography a tripod often becomes necessary.
friendly alexander
Thank you for visiting. I am proud that you have seen my pictures.
I stumble in the community repeatedly to interesting people. Many styles can be seen. Many have not yet found a style. I consider myself to it.
Your kind of street photography made ??me long stay at your photos and there is much to look pensive. But you can also recognizable that the world is not quite lost. I will visit you again.
regards
Reimund
Thanks Glenn for your portfolio. A treat in technique and most of all, the framing of life in the most basic common denominator. Inspiring and admirable!
Thank you once again for your comment on my "Advancing" photo, Glenn. I think perhaps I did feel rather like a matador may feel with the bull advancing only with several animals coming towards me at once I hoped that they would follow the direction the farmer was giving them to turn off into the field. Thankfully they did.
Regards
Jan
Thank you for commenting on my seal pic, Glenn, I don't think he was worrying about where his mum was. It was me who was worrying..silly me.
Regards
Jan
Hi Glenn,
thank you for looking at my pictures and an even bigger Thank you for sharing you pictures with us. They are very inspiring for me.
With best regards

Before I took that picture was talking for mamma of girl. And she told that it is enough painful prosedure. Pain is not doing us younger;-)))
Thanks for visit and comment!
Regards
Tania
Actually, this was not planned to be a city landscape. It's just location-scouting. I wanted to put somebody slim trim in the foreground. Blonde, in the best case. It just makes no sense and, in addition, I cant use flashes there without provoking a huge series of accidents and then getting arrested. And then I cant work anymore and my kids will starve and I will get sad and then, finally, I will commit suicide. So better no shooting there.
Hello Glenn, thank you very much for your visit and nice comments - much appreciated. My towers are from the castle in Schwerin/Germany .... see my comment and also link underneath - I assume you mean Australia with OZ - but no, not from there !!!
greetings, Adele

Dear Glenn
Did I say thank you for taking me - us all here in FC - with you to places so far away from every day thoughts that I hardly can believe these places are on the same Planet?
Best Regards S.
Hallo, My friend. This is "Community" planet ;~) but the zoomeffect is the analog. (Manual quickly zooming at slow shutter speeds). Thanks for your visit! My respect for you! /Ygar/

AND THE GIRL WITH HER MOBILE .....BEST WISHES AND CONGRATS ON ALL YOUR AWARDS ..A REAL TOP GUY ..LIKE ME IN MY HAM RADIO.... YOURS LES HAMILTON
thank you for your comment. You're very kind. Belive me, all compliments are welcome, but when they went from a photographers of your level, they are very good for the ego. :)
Anyway, very appreciate is your photo reading. In effect one is used to mentally discard what is not on focus, looking at the frame level-by-level. When the levels starts to communicate each other the photograph exits from the 2D dimension and comes into the third.
Thanks again ..this time for your comment on the ruff..it reminds me of a fussy little old lady in a fur coat..can just see it with a handbag.
Best wishes
Jan
Thanks for your visit and comment Glenn. Street photography is not my field very much, I must admit but yours is really excellent. alexander stefanatos
I was surprised that you got stuck on this photo, but as you saw some other
friends were touched too. Just to be clear... these are the graves of American soldiers
who lost their lives in the battles around the Dutch-German border...lost their lives for freedom.
So seeing this field of graves I was very touched. Yours Berthold
It is often the imaginary talking my dear Glen, so the question arises!
Thank you so much for creating this look, it gives me great pleasure
sincere friendship
Michel

You’re so right. I believe that life has a way of showing sometimes the cruel forms of living, and sometimes the even softer. What can I say? As another simple man, I guess am just a subject to these unwritten rules (like everyone else is, isn’t it so?) and go on with this condition in mind. As a photographer, I just hope to always be at the right time in the place, to shoot the scene. Thank you both for the contact and your comments on my work.
Habe mir Deine Bilder angeschaut!
Du bist ein begnadeter Künstler.
Alle Bilder sind beeindruckend, Tiefgründig!
Mach weiter so!
Wünsche Dir ein frohes Weihnachtfest!
Hello visiontalker!
