Single blossom

This is a single blossom of a wild orchid, the White Helleborine (Cephalanthera damasonium)taken in the Franconian Switzerland.

This lovely orchid grows up to 60cm in height,
has heavily-ribbed oval leaves,
and carries up to 16 white flowers on an upright stem.
This photo shows the flower fully open.
The flowers do not open fully
and so the blunt yellow lip is barely visible.
Flowering period is from May to July.

Dieses Makro zeigt eine einzelne Blüte des Weißen Waldvögleins, einer wilden Orchidee, aufgenommen auf unserem Grundstück (Hetzleser Berg) in der Fränkischen Schweiz (Oberfranken), 525 m NN.

@ Ken Piros: Yes, you are right, and I think that the single blossom of the White Helleborine looks like a clown face, but you can't see it in the whole of the wild flower.
