The Living Forest (92) : Comma Butterfly
It’s early autumn, but the fascinating Comma can still be seen on a fine sunny day.
Its wings have scalloped edges and the underside is strikingly similar in appearance to dead leaves which is an excellent camouflage at the time of hibernating.
Dutch name : Gehakkelde Aurelia
German name : C-Falter
Latin name : Polygonia c-album
