Due to the relatively warm january weather, this couple Wood Pigeons is having already a lot of sense to make a love nest.......
The Wood Pigeon is the largest pigeon in Europe and lives mostly in the forest.
In winter however, this bird is often leaving the forest in search of food.
Did you know that the feathers of this species weigh more than its skeleton ?

Apart from being lovely looking birds, they are also masters of flight. I watched a program on Tv about peregrine falcons diving towards pigeons at 200mph, and at the very last second the pigeon often evaded the attacker.best wishes from Lawson.
