The Fungi World (81) : Dog Vomit Slime Mold

The Fungi Kingdom consists of amazing and fascinating creatures. Just like last year, I found again the unique Dog Vomit Slime Mold with its peculiar yellow appearance. A bit mysterious creature !

Slime moulds are usually growing on old well-rotted logs in damp and shady forest areas, because there they can find the moisture and bacteria required for survival.
It’s a creeping fungus that moves very slowly.

Dutch name : Heksenboter
German name : Gelbe Lohblüte
Latin name : Fuligo septica

What a disgusting name in the English language - yellow lohblossom sounds so much nicer. Fascinating fungus/mold though and quite pretty with its bright yellow texture .... an excellent sharp and well lit image!!
    greetings, Adele
