Surreal Shore

This shot was taken at Lima, Peru. I was captivated by the way the waves broken in to the shore through those mounds of pebbles, which gave this shot it's surreal illusion of an irregular wave.

I'm not sure if you can see the lone man walking across the beach but that should clearly illustrate the scale of this shot.

It's a very great shot and my first idea was a picture from a shell. Very great, very.

    Thanks all, I appreciate it.

    Christina,
yes it's real and it does look strange.

There were mounds (or tiny hills) of pebble that the waves carved out through time. So where ever the water is held back is by the mound and where ever the waves seep or come through is the area between them.

You'll see this clearer if you look to the mounds on the left side.

I hope that helped you understand why this looks like this.

    Thanks for your interest.
