Playground in Autumn - A Murray Hill Impression

It was blustery and gray as I explored the Murray Hill section of midtown Manhattan on this November
afternoon. I'd pretty much given up on the chance of much color enlivening my shooting, as most of
the trees were already well underway in their transition from colorful autumn dress to winter-bare.

Thus I was happy indeed to come upon the St. Vartan Playground with its bold and bright colors
framing some remaining autumn gold in the trees just beyond, looking toward The Corinthian
condominium high-rise to the north. Somehow the emptiness of the playground, combining with a
bit of nature's persistence and the repeating patterns in the residential tower created a mood that I
really liked, and rewarded my own stubborn persistence on this brutally cold afternoon

New York is good about providing moments like that.
