On the Tha Chin river
In Nakhon Chaisi district on the river Tha Chin.
Full of floating water hyacinths cover the rivers surface and gives a problem to the river dwellers allover Thailands rivers.
Water hyacinth is considered invasive throughout the world because it grows rapidly and can form thick layers over the water. These mats shade out the other aquatic plants. ... The decaying process depletes the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. As oxygen levels decline, many fish are unable to survive.
The water hyacinths were imported from Java to Thailand, where they multiplied rapidly.

Auch wenn die Wasserhyazinthen eine Plage sind, fotogen sind sie. Wie leer würde der Fluss sonst auf dem Foto aussehen ? :-)) Auch auf dem Menam in Bangkok habe ich sie mir oft als Vordergrundgestaltung ins Bild genommen.LG, Herbert
