Ogoh-ogoh on the night before Nyepi
A few weeks before Nyepi, the Ogoh-ogohs are painstakingly “crafted” by mostly young people – incredible craftsmanship and creativity! Ultimately, they serve only one purpose: they are burned or destroyed in the end, symbolically to drive away the evil spirits and demons from the village (or town).
And every year anew! I would have liked to have made a timelapse photo and video of the formation of an Ogoh-ogoh when I return back to the island of demons.
