a small part of the west front of the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim ...
Nidaros Cathedral was built beginning in 1070 to memorialize the burial place of Olav II of Norway, the king who was killed in 1030 in the Battle of Stiklestad. He was canonized as Saint Olav a year later. It was designated the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nidaros from its establishment in 1152 until its abolition in 1537 under the Reformation.

Excellent rendu pour ces pierres dégradées et restaurées avec discrétion. Les statues, d'une autre roche (granite?) sont curieusement posées sur des socles obliques très érodés. Et les fûts des colonnes luisent comme des tubes néon. Curieux hétéroclisme ... Passionnant

Moi qui aime toutes les sculptures, y compris celles des églises et cathédrales, je suis admirative de ton rendu ici, c'est si clair, si bien défini, si net et si précis! Compliments pour ces quatre personnages, dont l'évêque qui a perdu la tête et la tient encore dans ses mains! Ils sont magnifiques entre les piliers et chapiteaux ouvragés!
