Attack!!!
This is the famous Artic Tern - also known as "Kria" - also known (by me!) as the Iceland Attack Bird! This photo was taken in Iceland in July 2008. If you come too close to the Kria's nesting area - they WILL let you know - and you WILL decide to leave the area near their nests! My first experience with the Kria was back in 2000, and it quickly brought back my memories of Alfred Hitchcock's move "The Birds" It's best to wear some sort of head covering when around their areas as they like to pounce on your head - first with their feet. I'm not sure what they do if you don't leave the area!!! :)
