i agree! i'm also fascinated with the different levels of height: the lake obviously being way down below and the carpet of fields just a little bit higher up. the tiny man on his photographic outlook – it's a bit as though penelope and odysseus traded places. she's out there roaming the seven seas, while he's checking the horizon for signs of her return – before i get carried away…this is not maritime ithaca but tibet! ; ) another beautiful shot of this magical sencery! the colors of the glassy lake and the look down across the luminous fields of green, orange and yellow – aesthetic feast for the eyes!! greetings, sabine.

It is indeed a three-levelled foreground, Sue. I was standing on the higher one taking the picture, the lonely figure stood at the tip of the second hill and then, the lower one with the fields, extended till the border of the lake...

Interesting to see the regimented fields and i think farm buildings on the opposite bank. The figure gives a good idea of the vastness of the scene

What really fascinates me about this scene is not that lone figure, it is that here so very high up, there are fields down by the lake....someone, a person or persons has tilled that land in order to grow things.
It is a magnificent scene, truly waesome.
