an old wooden house with - no doubt - an interesting past ... it is waiting to be brought to its old beauty again, like so many others we saw - the renovations go on in old Istanbul ....

Das sind gegensätze und überall leben Menschen...
sie sind glücklich , oder aber bedrückt... überall ist das Leben in gewisser weise gleich.

Viele von diesen alten Holzhäusern gibt es ja nicht mehr in Istanbul und in diesem Fall ist die Zeit wohl (leider!) auch abgelaufen....

It's not amazing that many quarters of this gigantic and extravagant city remain in such condition awaiting attention..But, no matter how ackward they look, they also stay as an indication of a thriving and historic past that kept this legendary city, first among others in the East, as a dreamy target to be conquered!...
