This Could Happen to Anyone.

I remember reading in one of the sunday papers about a very successful lawyer in London who was made redundant, her marriage broke up, and she ended up living on the streets as this man does. Fortunately one of her former colleagues saw her and helped her get back on her feet again.

A scene played out throughout the world. Mental illness, drugs, alcohol and hard times force many people into the streets. 2.2 billion people live on $2.00 or less a day. Hard to break the cycle but we should all keep trying to help whenever we can.

vintage life… yes, a terrible and disturbing thought, and probably also the reason why so many "regular" people avoid looking the "sidewalk beggars" at their feet in the eye and establishing contact – it's just too tender and sterring a subject… i like the composition here – very moving! and, once again, also very disturbing! – with the forlorn looking beggar bowing his head and the invisible line between him and the headless dummy across the store – like two weighing dishes on a scales! greetings, sabine. p.s.: "w. armstrong"… warm/strong – i like that! – somehow it's highly symbolic… hope he'll be strong enough to overcome this phase in his life and soon have it warm and secure again…

There always has been and sadley, there always will be such souls who are down on their luck and living on the streets....and why....because so few people care, least of all those who allow this to happen, even make it happen......
