Photography is a vast subject where there are many specialisms. Don't stress about what yours is for now but try all and don't keep repeating what you find easy. Sometimes what you find hard and challenging can reveal stuff you never thought before. Take risks. Always ask why and how.
What do you like, who's work do you admire, ask why? go and see their shows/exhibitions. Read journals, books, mags and watch films. But balance knowledge and enquiry with practice and observation. Do not compromise a photo opportunity with inconvenience to your comfort zone.
Know your camera but don't get too precious with it. To start with take it everywhere you go. It's always good to edit your thinking and review but sometimes don't think and edit. Your instinct can be your best asset. Basically be organic.
In todays world especially it is always good to be technically well versed and have the business savvy to put yourself out there (marketing). But first you need something to market - work with substance and you get this with knowledge, experience and vision. This will come in time and you can't rush experience/time:)
Technique is nothing without vision.
Learn your craft but also learn to see.
(You can look but you don't always see).
Hope this helps a little:)
