How do I paint back the original colour or sections to a b/w image.
Ive seen it someplace but cant remember where.

I suppose you had a colour image at first which you converted into B/W ?? in that case you can only retrieve the original colours if you saved this B/W conversion as a new layer. In other cases the colour information is being discarded.
thanks, yes i always work with a Duplicate layer.

I suppose you should just open the picture and then open the layer palette and open the layer holding the colour info ??
You can either erase the parts of the b/w layer you don't want and reveal the layer underneath (colour) or you can convert to b/w then use the history eraser brush on the parts you want coloured. You can also use a layer mask but thats more complicated and the other two methods will work fine. Paul

I usually use the magic wand tool in photoshop for the part I want to have recolored and then the history brush.
