Sigma or Tamron lens ?
Hi. Anyone tried out the Sigma 18-50 2.8 lens or the Tamron 28-75 2.8. I'm using a 350d , on a budget and want to take shots at my brothers' wedding. He's got a pro in but I'm looking for a a new lens or 2 anyway
Cheers.
Cheers.
Sigma lenses have in general a very good reputation.
I would in your case go for the 18-50 as that gives a you a wideangle option which the tamron does not have.

Thanks Ruud. I like the 2.8 for lower light conditions , just trying to find out sharpness, speed and accuracy of focus on the 2.
have a look at DPreview.com, i suppose there will be more technical info and tests

Tamron 28-75 F2.8 is superb.
I use it professionally and can't fault it's price/quality.

Get personally Rob! - We've all laughed now.
My heart goes out to Canon... there is no such comparison as to Tamron and/or Sigma.
