Flash light for Canon EOS350D

Hi,
I need a Flash-Light for my Cam, the Eos 350D. I used the Canon Speedlite 420EX for a few times and now I'm thinking about buying the 430EX. Is this a good flash for a beginner like me, who wants to make good pictures?

The dedicated Canon flashlights are definitely a good choice.
There are some other however as well which sometimes can be a lot cheaper.
Sigma makes a Canon ttl dedicated flash which is good and a lot cheaper.
type 500 ST Super, the guide nbr of that one is even a bit higher then the Canon one.
