Where the Underground Meets the Overground

A trip from London's Paddington Station to Hampstead Heath
on a November evening afforded the opportunity to sample
some of the fascinating variety in London's extensive rail systems.

Willesden Junction was an interesting place for a railfan to linger,
and I was glad that I'd allowed plenty of time for my trip. It is here
that one would transfer from the Bakerloo Line of the Underground
(which at this point is running above ground) to the very smooth, fast,
and comfortable Capitalstar trains of the London Overground (seen on
the overpass) to continue on to Hampstead Heath and points beyond..
