The Opponent

A good thing to remember when setting up a still life is to close the door to keep the cats out.

I was randomly placing pieces on the board to check which dof I wanted to use, when Smokey, our cat, thought he would come and help.

: ))) the knight especially looks a little worried, scanning the board for an oblique way out to evade the slinking white predator – he's a flight animal after all… ; ) great use of the "intrusion", jenipher! the fun lies in the juxtaposition of imagined sounds: felt padded wood vs. soft padded paws on wood… ; )) greetings, sabine. p.s.: and for some strange and irrational reason it's also an image that makes me think of "alice in wonderland"… ; )

Maybe it's a good idea to introduce a cat as new chess piece..... :-))
The play with dof is magnificent in this shot !

They love to help their own man, when washing the floor :) Checking the bags of groceries is also their specialty. So why not to play chess?
    Well shown.
