This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.

Each castle had a court jester, whose unrewarding task it was to please and entertain the Lord and Lady of the castle.
Let's say the predecessor of our current television :-))

oh yes, what a job ... looking somewhat silly, being heard whereever you go - and having to act silly .... and if your jokes weren't good enough ..... his vibrant red and blue jester outfit and the little bells pretty to look at, but having to wear them a different story - great one, Mark !!!

The life of a jester's was not always easy ....Soon he was at the court no longer welcome because he had lost to the entertainment quality. Great shot..Bw Roland

: )))))) a very analog way of entertainment! and quite a stressful job, too. one risky jest and you might wake up on the scaffold… ; ) but who knows, maybe the court jester will enjoy a tremendous comeback, when one day we digital people are finally fed up with staring into our portable parallel universes all day and yearn for some good wholesome bell-ringing fun! ; )) my kingdom for a personal jester… ; )) greetings, sabine.
