The American Sweetgum is a tree native to eastern USA and was introduced into Europe in 1681.
It likes to grow in swampy forests and is famous for its brilliant and intense autumn colours.

Ohhh, wonderful colourations in the leaves all caught in this beautiful light and against the dark background ... the leaves look so similar to the Japanese Maples, but the fruit here looks very different - must look for it!greetings, Adele
