[ The Flushing ]

Rye has got lots of fantastic timbered houses...
having been a well known Inn in Rye for half a century, The Flushing Inn also retired, when the owners (the Mann and Flynn family) retired in 2010.
The Flushing is situated near Rye Castle Museum and a well-kept timbered house. The present building dates from 1300 to 1450.
A tudor frieze inside dates from the first part of the 16th century.

the name itself most likely comes from the old English word: 'the flesher'
(as the house on Market Street was the Butchery, the butcher was 'the flesher') ... there is another story behind that...you will see her:

Rye, low tide ...
Rye, low tide ...
