    @Dirk and Lukas: sorry for the late answer:
    exposure of the left pic was 1/20 sec, and the right one was 1 sec.
    above, I wrote that I took the pics 'freehand' meaning that I was not using a tripod (I have never used one except for a few (very few;-) macro shots)...I supported the camera on a hand rail for the 1sec shot (and used the image stabilizer of my lens;-)). I also tried longer exposures but did not like the effect.

    would be cool if you could add the data of both photos. by doing so unexperienced photographers would be able to see the difference between the two exposure times ...
