Shipping on Mekong river
During dry season shipping traffic is very hard on the Mekong river. The river does not has enough water flew for a steady run. china has built five dams upstream the Mekong, Laos one in Xayaburi. The dams open the water gates every four to six hours to let run water for shipping.
